Cervini’s Side Exhaust for 2015-2017 Mustang GT Looks the Part, Priced at $2,000
The Ford Mustang is a sweetheart of the tuning world and, predictably, it is hard to find a used S550 without at least one aftermarket mod already on it. And that’s a darn shame.
Beyond the tacky side of the industry (i.e. illuminated badges, deep dish rims, and obnoxiously wide body kits), some companies do it right. One of those companies is Cervini’s, who is selling a side-exiting exhaust system for the 2015 to 2017 model year Ford Mustang GT Fastback. At $1,999.99 with free shipping included, the neat-looking exhaust system is definitely not cheap. According to the Vineland, New Jersey-based Cervini’s Auto Designs, the side exhaust package can be installed out of the box. Speaking of which, two grand buys you 3-inch stainless steel exhaust pipes, 3-inch Magnaflow mufflers, charcoal ceramic coated exhaust tips, textured matte black side skirts, and matte black rear exhaust covers. The latter are meant to conceal the cutouts from where the Mustang’s factory exhaust tips would stick out. Engineered by Cervini’s from the ground up, the company also promises that only the best materials were used to make the side exhaust system happen. “The exhaust is tame at idle,” we’re told, “but sounds incredible while cruising and grabbing a couple of gears.” Based on what we can hear from the adjacent sound clip, that could be an understatement from Cervini's part. What the company doesn’t say about this somewhat overpriced system is how much ground clearance is lost due to the side skirts and 3-inch pipes. A couple of pictures from under the car would have been great. Look on the upside, though: the side-exiting exhaust doesn't interfere with the jacking points, and boy does it sound nice when the Five-Oh V8 opens up.
